I’ve known April for over a decade. We graduated from Arizona State University Teachers College together. What stands out to me most about April is her positivity and her ability to bring out the best in people, especially children. During our degree program, I interned in a classroom the semester after April had worked in the same classroom. I sought her advice in working with a few of the students and was in amazement at how well she understood the students, their strengths, their areas of need, and her ability to connect with the children on a personal level. She helped to foster their creativity, bring out their intrinsic interest in learning, and build on their strengths and leadership potential. She is the kind of diligent, creative, and nurturing teacher that families spend countless hours searching for. If we lived in the area, I would enroll my son in her program with no hesitation.
